The Faces of Kenyatta Cheese
6h057:
I’m sure this will be my creepiest post or saying it’s not meant to be creepy will only make it more creepy. Anyhoo:
An epic tribute to Yatta’s performance in this episode of Rocketboom.
Flattery.
“You’re amazing. You’re like Kathryn Hahn when she pees standing up in Step Brothers.”

YouTube's Music Discovery Project →
moth:
I was surprised to find out a little while back that lots of kids use YouTube as a free music service by making playlists of their favorite music videos and listening to them / watching them in a background player all day long. After realizing this, I was able to VJ a recent Next New Networks / $99 Music Videos party all night long with a playlist of classic ‘80’s MTV era videos.

I feel like you always decide to visit when I’m not in the office, Andrea! Hi Zac!
Don’t worry, Kelly—I left a surprise on your desk for when you return from Maryland!
Zach: We had a friend in high school whose parents were Academy voters and we'd get their screeners. Remember, Andrea?
Andrea: Yeah, I still have their VHS of Chocolat.
Zach: I have their Meet Joe Black.
Happy anniversary, New York.
It’s been three years and this last one was particularly good:
I got paid to go out and drink a bunch of times.
I had an amazing, exhausting time working on a first-year music festival.
I had a terrific birthday.
I started working with the fabulous URDB.
And I got a new day job, too.
LYLAS, New York City. Stay sexy.

The origin of “Coco.” Some people are complaining about everyone calling Conan “Coco.” Here’s the sketch where the name “Coco” was first introduced.
Don’t forget when Tom Hanks arrived later in the episode and cemented the nickname. Coco Christopher!

Terry Richardson taking pics of William Eggelston at the Chiem & Read gallery. The art nerd in me was giddy with this situation.
idahobob asked: Are you going to take on the advent calendar this coming Jan 19th?
jimmyrabbitte-deactivated201108 asked: While I know the attempt ended in a victory for the chocolate, I was still impressed by your drive and gumption in the URDB Advent Calendar challenge. It seemed like such an odd record to undertake, but it was very entertaining. What was the impetus of the idea?
youngmanhattanite asked: Do you really expect us to ask a question without the option of it being anonymous?
Want to host a World Record web show?

urdb:
We’ve got a ton in the works at URDB HQ for 2010. First up is the launch of a weekly web show, tentatively titled, “Top 5 Records of the Week”. We’ve got a production company on board and a NYC location to shoot in - all we need is host.
Prospective talent should love web shows and understand what makes great web video tick. They should have a unique personality and...
Ask me about my...whatever. →
I posted about the Northampton arsons recently—a string of several fires that took place on December 27th in my hometown, one of which killed two men. A few days ago, I learned that the main suspect was a friend of mine. On Monday he was arrested, on Tuesday he was arraigned.
All who know him are having a difficult time reconciling Tony’s character with the very disturbing acts he may...
Annals of redecorating.
Is there anything worse than buying furniture in your twenties? I want to be irresponsible and blow my Christmas bonus on a trip to Spain and a daylong binge at Joseph Leonard, but I’ve already committed to purchasing a sectional sofa for The Great Apartment Redecoration. I was awfully naive about the whole thing, believing I had the means to spurn Ikea for some boutique couchery in Soho. Of...
